Dumping of the elderly...

A serious problem arising here in the UAE is with the amount of elderly being given over to senior citizen homes (which is an evil thing no matter how you look at it), but the worst problem is that we dont have enough of these homes to cope with the situation! Whats worse? being shipped away from your family, or discovering that youre family sent you without checking availability?

Why arent I asleep?

Its 4:20 am,,, and I cant sleep.

Im contemplating the meaning of the following: "Amor est vitae essentia " or love is the essence of life.

Over and over, its burning me. Its that time of the year for me again.

I cant sleep, I keep thinking, It feels like im burning my thoughts in a bonfire unseen to the world.

Its that time of the year... The dark horses ride with me into the night.

through the glass

First woman to be elected,,, Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi, YAY...

That is big victory for the UAE, with us winning in more ways than one.

On a separate note, everyone has been talking about the bus driver who somehow managed to kill 9, and injure 50 with his stupidity on Shkh Zayed Road, and emphasizes how dangerous such large vehicles (he was driving a BIG bus) are. Even if the drivers of these heavy vehicles are good, which isnt the case here in the UAE, a small mistake can lead to a tragedy such as the said incident... So what is the solution?

I say we make a seperate lane or two (yes a LANE) that is closed off from the general traffic but still on the same highway. Reserve these lanes specifically for heavy vehicles, which includes military vehicles, and voila... A solution to tragedies.

Maybe this was an idea that wasnt implemented... Or maybe people should start listening to me :-)

(note: I will be busy these next 2 weeks, exams... Forgive me)

FNC issue...

The one thing that truly bothers me up to this point, is the fact that its not general elections per se, but rather 5000 selected individuals (pretty much the educated ones of us) are to vote this time around. Although I believe next time around it will be a truly general election... Still,,, I wanted to vote...

I would vote for Dr Meshgan Al Awar, Shehab Gargash, Or Dr Amal Al Qubaisi...
